Please explain to the public your business opinion why this is such a good deal? A good deal only for China! The US Government and the “Deep State” is so desperate for a carbon neutral USA and China couldn’t care less about their carbon or what crap is in their air for their communist country. This is fact: “Gotion is in line for $7.5 billion in federal tax credits, in addition to the Illinois incentive package. The company is getting considerable tax breaks to construct a plant that will cost $2 billion dollars to build. The total subsidies for the plant calculate to an astounding $3 million dollars per job created. Why are U.S. taxpayers providing $8 billion in economic incentives for the construction of a plant that costs $2 billion to build?” Does this make economic sense Mr. Mayor? Let me repeat! $3 MILLION DOLLARS PER JOB CREATED! This investment is only $2 billion from Gotion (ownership, no matter what you believe or have been brainwashed to believe, is China). Buying products from China is not the same as giving them $3 million dollars investment per job created OVER 30 YEARS. The 120% pay guaranteed for similar work in the area is a joke. What similar work? That rate is a matter of interpretation anywhere from $45,000 to $55,000 a year and that would be over a period of 30 years! The rate is still not an average income for a family of four! There is nothing guaranteed in the contract. It is all a bunch of speculation based on what is expected with no guarantees. And don’t get me started on the enviromental, safety and tax burden for the people of Illinois and especially for the community of Manteno. Tax paying residents are leaving this state yearly – It is no secret! Illinois has publicly claimed to be a sanctuary state and illegal immigrants are being bussed in and dropped off nightly and who do you think may get most of those jobs? Why is the US Government not giving massive tax incentives to build more housing for homeless, homeless veterans and mental health facilities? I’m all for cleaner air and less carbon but what hypocrites our government is to support communists who couldn’t care less about their air or our air! It is about taking control of our country! Little by little. Open your eyes. How do you say you care? Where will all of you be in 30 years when this deal ends? Or will Gotion fail just like the big solar panel hit job Obama did in CA? What a big waste of tax dollars? Will you be here to pick up the pieces of the mess you started? The contract says Gotion can pull out anytime for no reason. Who decided these terms? It is a joke of a deal that many other states fought against and they won when Gotion (China) would not turn over certain documents they asked for. As each state said no the incentive/terms got higher for Gotion (China). The US Government basically wanted this poisonous, dangerous battery plant at no cost to environment, human health and possible life. Who has been pulling your strings? Who are you a puppet for? Stand up for the people the community elected! You don’t own the community! You have been promised something out in Lalaland right now and willing to bet your whole reputation and all the good you have done for the community by trusting our US Government that has a terrible track record and of all countries CHINA! The USA is not a communist country but the leadership of Manteno is acting like they are.
