Gotion buys 231 acres for targeted expansions, power plant

Two large parcels of farmland in Manteno — adjacent to the Gotion battery plant — were recently sold for a combined $17.5 million, according to Kankakee County tax records. The land, about 231 acres split between two parcels, was acquired by limited liability companies related to Gotion, and it will allow the China-based company to build out its power plant for future use.
