From our Attorney, Robby Dube

Hey everyone, a quick recap of what happened in court yesterday.

It was what we call a “housekeeping” hearing in that the Court was only handling scheduling, not hearing argument or ruling one way or the other. The Court gave us 45 days to respond to Gotion and the Village, and then another 45 days for them to respond. We have a hearing date on the motions on April 28th at 10a.m.

Judge Parkhurst did not indicate one way or the other how she was leaning on the motion, which I would not have expected her to do. Once we have filed our opposition, I will post it here for everyone’s review.

In the meantime, the next big event is the April 1st election. If you have not already made a plan to vote and gotten 10 people to commit to voting as well, now is the time to start!

WE NEED YOUR HELP

In 2023, our elected officials cut a deal behind closed doors with Gotion, LLC to build an electric vehicle battery plant in Manteno, IL. This plant is estimated to receive over $7 billion in state and federal tax subsidies, and appallingly, Gotion is linked to the CCP and slave labor in China.

Taxpayers are subsidizing a national adversary tied to slave labor! We are fighting in court to stop the deal. So far, our small group has raised over $70,000 to fight this. We cannot do it alone! We need your help. Please donate whatever you can to our fight (donations are not tax deductible).
